1913 LAUNCESTON K.O CUP Winners

Launceston Reserves

Launceston Reserves 4-1 Launceston Albion

These teams met at Pennygillam, Launceston 0n Easter Monday morning in the final for the Launceston and district cup.
The Reserves four-to-one win was well deserved. The game on the whole was not of a very exciting nature, although at time, especially in the first half, the Reserves showed good combination.
The game was marred by a very unfortunate accident. Not many minutes after the game had started, Albert Watters, an Albion forward, collided with one of the opposing backs, and broke his leg. He was taken to the Rowe Infirmary where it was found that both bones of the leg were broken. The unfortunate affair undoubtedly robbed the game of much of its interest.
Mr J.Doidge acted as referee and the teams lined out as follows; - Reserves E. J, Sharland; L, Brimmell, C.Parsons; C.Strike, F.Bartlett, E.J.Shadrick, C.Rockey, F.Philp, W.Jasper, S.Rockey and P. Webber
Albion: - S. Steed, G.Tucker, C.Hillman, F.Bewes, F.Doidge, A.Abbott, G.Symons, S.Horrell, A.Jago, A.Watters and L.Ayres.
The four goals for the Reserves were scored by C.Rockey, Webber, S.Rockey (2); whilst Jago scored for the Albion. In the absence of the President and the vice-President of the Competition, Mr W.T.Mills presented the cup to the winning team, Miss May Northcott distributing the medals. Sympathy was expressed with Watters in this misfortunate
