1955 LAUNCESTON K.O CUP Final

CALSTOCK 3-1 PENSILVA

Doug Reid Ray Thomas
Graham Parker
R. Greaves

THEIR BOGEY TEAM

Pensilva must regard Calstock as their bogey team for two reasons They are the only Cornish side to have beaten them this season and in addition Thomas the Pensilva centre-forward has missed twice from the penalty spot against them, the only two occasions he has done so this season. The second occasion proved disastrous for the side for it meant a replay in the final of the Launceston & District Knockout Cup- and that replay on the Launceston Town ground Friday Pensilva lost and deservedly as Calstock won because they adapted themselves better to the tricky high wind that was blowing.
On the other hand Pensilva failed to make use of the number of opportunities that came their way in the first half when they had advantage of the wind and they crossed over leading by the only goal (scored by Thomas).
As events proved this lead was not good enough, for immediately after the restart Greaves scored with a cross shot.
After this Calstock dictated play and Parker put them into the lead and victory was ensured when Reid added the third goal.
The cup was presented to Miller the Calstock captain by R.L. Hicks president of the completion while the players of both sides received plaques
