CALSTOCK WIN LAUNCESTON AND DISTRICT K.O CUP
CALSTOCK 3-1 ST TUDY

After a quarter-hour's play of even exchanges Calstock went ahead through a goal by centre forward Pengelly in the final of the Launceston and District K.O Cup at Launceston on Tuesday. Displaying a marked superiority to their opponents at this stage, Calstock went further ahead outside-left G. Pratt and inside-right, D. Jordan. In the second half St Tudy pepped up their attack but centre forward Harding had all his shots blocked by a packed Calstock defence. The St Tudy outside-right B. Keat then found the net. St Tudy pressed hard but Calstock nearly scored when Robin Burden deflected a rising ball from G. Pratt, who was responsible for some good moves, over the bar for a corner. The Calstock goalie Chapman was also seen to good advantage.

The rest of the game was fought out at a good pace, both teams putting their best efforts into attack, centre-half Rex Burden moving to centre-forward for St Tudy.

The chairman of the competition (Mr H. Harvey), calling on the President (Mr L.H. Goodman) to present the trophies, congratulated both teams in the final and thanked other teams taking part. Mr Goodman presented the cup to the Calstock captain and left back Paul Walters, and complimented the teams, referee and linesmen on a very sporting game. He also thanked the secretary (Mr W. Worden) for his work.
