1964 LAUNCESTON K.O CUP Final

ASHWATER 2-1 BLISLAND

Martin(2)......................Lobb
A headed goal in the last few minutes gave Ashwater the Launceston & District Cup after they had been rushing the Blisland goal for most of the second half.
Blisland with the wind in their favour were the first to score when Lobb put the finishing touch to a fine move. Soon after they lost right back Mitchell with a knee injury and spent the rest of the half concentrating on defence. Shaddock pulled off a fine save to stop Ashwater's Moore finding the net.
However the goal keeper was unable to hold a shot from Martin for the Ashwater equaliser. Tubb the Devon side's right winger left the field after being knocked out, but returned to put across the centre from which Martin headed home the winning goal. Blisland's outside left nearly forced extra time when he shot wide as the final whistle blew.
The cups and medals were presented by Mr J.Hobbs president of the competition. Extract from Cornish & Devon Post Sat 2nd May 1964
