POWELL POUNCES

The Launceston and District K.O Cup final at Launceston on Wednesday was a close encounter from start to finish.
The first half saw both sides have chances of taking the lead, but erratic finishing and some good saves by the goalkeepers prevented any score in the first half.

Twenty minutes into the second half Pelynt broke the deadlock when Kevin Powell forced the ball over the line following a corner.
Dobwalls tried hard to get back, particuarly in the closing stages, but Pelynt held on to take the cup.

Olver Harris, president of the competition, presented the trophy and plaques to the two teams and congratulated them on a sporting game.
